Mexico 2023 – Sunburnt From Swimming

Day 3: November 11th, 2023

9:00am – Waking up early on vacation was not my idea of ” vacationing”. Ah, well. Wishful thinking. There was really no point in trying to go back to sleep, so I woke up. I yawned my way over to the buffet, and by the time I was finished it was go time.

10:00am – Splash! Into the FREEZING COLD WATER I went. I swear I would’ve frozen to death if I was in Canada. The wonderful heat, saving me from death. Ahhhhhhh. Buuuuut…

Owwwwwww! YOU IDIOT WHY DID YOU DIVE ONTO MY STOMACH???????? My “Friend” had dived onto my stomach, and oh god did it hurt. I wanted to KILL him, but instead I went back to doing acrobatics. It was goodbye to 4 hours.

2:00pm – Lunch. Nom nom nom. Running outside. Stopped in my tracks. There was a brain teaser game, and the loser had to bellyflop into the pool. Wow, but just WHY? Pushing all those thoughts away, I watched, and was so entertained. It was fun.

3:00pm – …

9:00pm – Sorry I forget. Sleep At Last.

Day 4: November 12th, 2023

8:00am – It was the DAY. The ultimate gigachad day. Swimming with turtles, underwater caves, mayan ruins, what else could I want? I rushed down to breakfast and shoveled the food down my throat. I didn’t care about the breakfast, I cared about the trip. My parents came along at about 8:30, and they had their breakfast too. We almost ended up missing the bus.

9:00am – 45 minutes WASTED.

10:00am – It was amazing. I saw centuries old structures, and a LOT of iguanas. And mosquitoes. But i swear, go up to the tip of the cliff, and you’ll be met with an amazing breeze, and a even more amazing view. It was one-of-a-kind, and I say go there or else you will not have lived.

11:00am – I can’t say I’m happy to leave, but I AM HOT. AT least the van has AC. Off to the caves.

12:00pm – Here we are. The beautiful… forest? We paid for a cave, not a forest! Our tour guide explained that we had to walk to get to the cave. Ouch. Not so bad after all.

When we got in, it was a seam in the earth. A rocky one at that. Very narrow, if you ask me. I thought that this was it at first, but I wasn’t expecting a narrow space. It was breathtaking. The best was yet to come.

Going back to our van, we changed into our swimming gear. We got lifejackets. And we saw a tarantula. And again, we were back in the caves. This time to swim. For some funny reason a person got pushed in *lolz*. I dived in and COLD! And I got over it.

1:00pm – I accidentally swallowed some water but it was the purest water on the planet. Wow, this cave was MASSIVE! With a capital M but that’s kinda obvious. Anyways, my initial thought was, “How are we gonna get in?”

Turned out the answer was claustrophobic. There was a gap in the cave wall, no bigger than a humans’ head. We couldn’t touch the entrance, though. It was a rule. PUTTING THAT ASIDE, the cave was beautiful. There were a lot of bats. And too soon, the experience was over. Time for lunch.

Lunch was OK. Turtles next!

2:00pm – TURTLES OMG THEY’RE SO CUTE!!!!!!!! Yeah, right. When I got into the water, I swallowed lots of salt water. Then I saw my first turtle. Lemme just say, it was UGLY. Got used to it. Then I saw it. Its a starfish!

Sadly, I wasn’t as lucky as my mom, who saw a real stingray. But all things aside, we were going back to the resort.

5:00pm – Me and my mom went back into the pool to do some more swimming. Woooooooo!

6:00pm – I took a shower and went to grab some ice cream. I was tired, but really happy. We were eating at the Mexican restaurant today, and after the experience at the Italian restaurant *🤢🤮*, I wasn’t too ecstatic about this one, but boy I WAS WRONG!

It was better than McDonalds, better than Gordon Ramsey *okay maybe not better than him but you get the point.*

8:00pm – Chilling at the beach🤓

9:00 – 😴
