For my entire life, I’ve always liked cats. And recently, all my friends changed to dogs. So I’m writing this to answer this question. Which is better?
This contest (with no bias) will be based on 5 key factors: Strength, Loyalty, Charisma, Intelligence, and Survival Instincts.
Strength:
First up, Strength. Cats easily dominate. With their fast reflexes, sharp claws, stealthiness and flexible body, they can easily dominate against dogs their size.
This works because cats bodies can recoil and launch themselves with a ton of force. Combine this with their sharp claws, and they can literally pierce through dogs fur and skin.
If you think that dogs can bite them and therefore kill, you would be wrong. Cats reflexes allow them to dodge and run if needed. And their stealthiness allows them to sneak up on dogs and attack.
You could argue that cats are scared of dogs, but only in cartoons. Sure, this may be true in some cases, but majority of the time cats get along with dogs, only if they’re friendly. And if they’re not, well then they go into attack mode.
Loyalty:
Loyalty is a no brainer. Dogs are easily the most loyal animal in the animal kingdom. No facts needed there.
Charisma:
Charisma is slightly harder to figure out. Ugly animals are ugly. Cute animals are cute. For this, I’m going to put it at a draw, as it depends on the type of breed for each.
Hairless cats and bulldogs are really ugly, but munchkin cats and golden retrievers are really cute.
Intelligence:
Intelligence and iq seems easy to find out, but it requires a lot of background info. Both have lots of intelligence, but in their own ways. Dogs have a lot of social intelligence, but cats are born thinkers.
What animals need is the ability to make rational decisions, so sorry dog lovers but cats take this round, mainly because social intelligence doesn’t help you survive.
Survival Instincts:
If dogs win this, it’s a tie. If cats win this, they win. If it’s a draw, cats still win. The pressure is high. What determines this round is, “Can domesticated cats or dogs survive if let go in the forest?”
Well, according to quora.com, domesticated dogs will starve before they can learn to hunt in the wild, but don’t lose hope… actually do, because even though cats still die in the wild if let go, they live longer than dogs due to their instinct for hunting.
So cats win this round.
The final score is cats 2 1/2, and dogs 1 1/2
Cats are overall better according to these terms but if you have different ones please comment them. I’m really curious.
